Reproductive Support and Care is a Fundamental Human Right

This is the firm belief that serves as a foundation to my entire practice as a Full-Spectrum Doula. As a queer, disabled, neuro-spicy woman I have experienced widely ranging treatment throughout reproductive healthcare. From traumatic losses, non-informed consent during my own labor, and finally to healing births with support and informed consent I have personally experienced the good, bad, and in between for reproductive experiences.

In my more than 5 years practicing as a Full-Spectrum Doula I have supported bodies of all shapes and experiences, births of many kinds, unexpected complications, and even precipitous births in a blizzard. I have support birthing bodies in hospitals and at home, under OB care and Midwifery care. Overwhelmingly what I have experienced and believe is that regardless of the circumstances, the difference between a birth that feels like your own and a birth filled with trauma and hurt, largely can come down to feeling like an empowered and informed participant in your own birth.

As a doula I work to listen, affirm, encourage, and inform you as you walk your path. There is no wrong way to bring a life into this world, as long as it is your choice and you feel heard. Reproductive experiences are filled with unexpected twists and turns. My role as a doula is to ensure you aren’t left with unanswered questions, you are being heard and respected by your medical team, and when applicable your partner feels supported and knowledgeable on how to best be there for you. I support all bodies, and experiences through all choices, however I do have special skills and knowledge to support 2SLGBTQIA+, disabled, and neurodivergent individuals.

Meet Audra

Audra (she/her) is a mother to 4 children earthside. She lives in South Moorhead with her family and helps run their Urban Hydroponic Farm when not supporting Doula clients or chasing around he chaos crew of kiddos. An avid music lover, crafter, and advocate she loves to spend time with friends and her chosen family whenever she can squeeze in the time. Audra is a queer cis-gendered woman that is passionate about supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ people throughout their reproductive experiences. She also is someone that carries the identity of a multi-disabled and Neurodivergent person. Her long journey to diagnosis and continued work advocating for treatment and supports has been both influenced and positively impactful on her work as a doula. After attending her first birth in 2019, she knew right away and would tell anyone that would listen, that she had a neon sign moment and was certain this was what she was meant to do.
